Easy Chocolate Rum Balls

Published on Saturday May 19th, 2012,

By now you should have realized that I am a huge fan of hazelnuts. It’s true, whenever I buy some nuts, it’s usually hazelnuts. They are mild but at the same time very aromatic, especially when you roast them. They are also very versatile and not too expensive. I’ve used them in quite a few desserts lately. Most of them have been a little bit time consuming. But not in this case! These rum balls require only a handful of ingredients and if you don’t have those on hand, you

German Recipe Monday – Poppy Seed Rolls

Published on Monday May 14th, 2012,

I’ve never had a cinnamon roll until I was in my twenties. I got to eat it at a cafeteria at the university of Oslo a couple of years ago. Norwegian cinnamon rolls are different from US-American cinnamon rolls, because they are made with cinnamon and cardamom. Those soft and fluffy rolls got me addicted very soon. I wasn’t prepared for this. Or maybe I was? Last week was an average week, considering it was April  and not June. We had some sun, some rain and temperatures around 15°C. But then we went outside and were blinded by crazy sunshine. F. was getting uncomfortable in her stroller pretty soon until we took off half her clothes. And then we had crazy  28°C for a couple of days. I mean, I like summer, but why does it always have to come so super fast? Somehow it seems there

Rhubarb Muffins

Published on Sunday April 22nd, 2012,

Last time I talked about expanding the blog a little bit but the truth is in order to expand the topics covered here, I also have to cut out some things. The sad thing is that I don’t have the time I’d like to devote to blogging, reading other blogs, commenting, etc. anymore. Every time I open my reader (which is probably once a week these days) I feel overwhelmed. There are so many awesome posts, recipes, etc. out there and I just don’t have the time to catch up
